Claude DEBUSSY (1862–1918). *Pelléas et Mélisande*, a lyrical drama in 5 acts and 12 scenes… Score for voice and piano (Paris, A. Durand & Fils; Copyright E. Fromont, 1902); folio, [8]-283-[1] pp., in the publisher’s green percaline binding with gilt title on the upper cover. First edition with introductory pages from the second printing. Durand, having bought the work from Fromont, inserted a new double title page, on which the first name of the répétiteur has been corrected to Louis Landry (not Edmond). Catalogue number E.1416.F., except for the first page of music (p. 2), which is catalogued as D.&F. 6576, bearing the copyright notice ‘Copyright by E. Fromont 1902’. A few pencil annotations on the first few pages, indicating the orchestration. Enclosed are: – *Le Théâtre*, a special issue from June 1902 devoted to *Pelléas et Mélisande*, and richly illustrated (slight damage and repairs to the cover); – an illustrated booklet accompanying the complete recording of *Pelléas et Mélisande* by *La Voix de son Maître*, conducted by Roger Désormière (January 1942), one of 100 non-commercial copies on Salève ‘Luxe’ paper ’ paper (no. 98).
