Letter from the sender (L.A.S.) and letter to the sender (L.S.), 1850–1869; 2 pages in-8 and 1½ pages in-12 with envelope (stamp cut out). 8 January 1850, to a colleague. He had not had time to send his New Year’s greetings: ‘My life is spent devising long articles, bringing them to fruition and starting all over again.
