Paul VERLAINE. Autograph poem, [To Caïn M…, September 1893]; 1 page, in-12 (14 x 10.5 cm). Working manuscript of a poem attacking Léon Bloy, included in *Invectives* (1896, poem XXII), where it is dated September 1893. It comprises 6 quatrains; this untitled manuscript contains numerous crossings-out and corrections. ‘This new Father of the Church (Subject to inventory) Shouts at me and orders me to be silent, For my work scandalises him’… On the reverse, the final quatrain of piece XXXII from *Bonheur*, copied by Charles Morice for printing.
