FREE FRANCE. P.S. by Naval Commissioner Philippe Ortoli (1909–1978), Portsmouth, 6 December 1940; 1 page, in-4, partly printed on Free French Forces letterhead.
Enlistment certificate no. 2,347 FNFL 40 for Robert Jean Le Liboux (Languidic 1923– Tours 1996), as a gunner’s mate (an attached note specifies that this certificate was signed on board the submarine chaser No. 43 Le Lavandou). The document is signed by Naval Commissioner Ortoli, Le Liboux and two witnesses.
Three documents concerning Le Liboux are attached: – a duplicate of the Free French Forces certificate (No. 41,478); – an honorary certificate as standard-bearer (1993), with a letter from the Indre-et-Loire Prefecture; – a certificate for services rendered to France during the 1939–45 and Indochina wars (1995).
