Description
Antoine Galiot, Marquis de MANDAT (1731–1792), commander of the National Guard, assassinated on 10 August. Letter from the author, 27 April 1788, to M. Le Nain; 1 oblong page, in-8, with address. He regrets having missed his visit and asks that the sum of 72 livres be paid to Audebert, the porter at the small hotel, for five months’ wages. Rare. Enclosed is a certificate signed by Captain Drost and co-signed by nine officers, in favour of Citizen Fournier, ‘Commander of the detachment which was in Orléans, by order of the Executive Power’, where he conducted himself with wisdom and in a commendable manner (1 oblong page, in-8). Plus a poster from the Bulletin of the National Convention dated 24 May 1793.
