Anne-Marie-Louise d’Orléans, Duchess of MONTPENSIER (1627–1693), known as the Grande Mademoiselle. Autograph manuscript; 2 pages in-4 (sheet slightly browned with a small tear at one corner, tab). Fragment of a text on Maecenas, with a few deletions and corrections. ‘Maecenas was of the opinion that Augustus, having only the empire, could not live in safety […] because he would have to fear the vengeance of the great number of citizens whom he had offended.
