Description
Raymond CAUCHETIER (1920–2021) À bout de souffle, Jean-Luc Godard. Filming in the photography studio on Rue Campagne Première, Paris, 1959 Silver print made from the negative on high-quality baryta paper, mounted on an aluminium plate. On two labels on the reverse: signed and dated 2020 in pencil, titled, with copyright stamps. Dimensions: 50 x 60 cm Print produced in 2013 for the ‘Flashback’ exhibition on Raymond Cauchetier at the Salon de la Photo, Paris-Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris, 7–11 November 2013.  Each print was produced under the supervision of Raymond Cauchetier and is of a quality suitable for collectors. All captions are taken from Cauchetier’s account as transcribed in the official exhibition catalogue, the artist’s first retrospective.  Printer: Thomas Consani, then at the Central Dupon Image laboratory (now a printer at the Picto laboratory). Raymond Cauchetier recounts: Filming in the photography studio on Rue Campagne Première. Jean-Luc Godard, with his right hand, pushes the camera dolly, whilst holding, in his left hand, the script from which he reads, live, the lines intended for Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg. Incredible! But brilliant!
