Print produced in 2013 for the ‘Flashback’ exhibition on Raymond Cauchetier at the Salon de la Photo, Paris-Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris, 7–11 November 2013.
Each print was produced under the supervision of Raymond Cauchetier and is of a quality suitable for collectors. Printer: Thomas Consani, then at the Central Dupon Image laboratory (now a printer at the Picto laboratory).
Raymond Cauchetier recounts:
“Oskar Werner and Henri Serre are miming a 1900s waltz in the ring of a French boxing club. Between takes of the French boxing match in which they face off in the film, Henri Serre and Oskar Werner humorously transformed the ring into a musette ballroom. On the right, the abandoned boxing glove seemed to me to play its part in this temporary ceasefire, and I framed the shot accordingly”.
This is Raymond Cauchetier’s favourite photograph.
