Helmut NEWTON (1920–2004) Attributed to, Untitled (fashion shoot, haute couture), circa 1977–1979 Period silver gelatine print on baryta paper 37 x 30 cm (As is) The styling, featuring in particular a coat with a graphic pattern and an embroidered dress with an Oriental-inspired design, strongly evokes the Parisian haute couture of that period, possibly linked to the designs of Yves Saint Laurent. This set most likely forms part of an editorial for *Vogue Paris* or a similar European publication, a field in which Newton was particularly active. Provenance: acquired from a gallery owner in the Nice area; according to oral tradition, from a printer who worked with Helmut Newton in Monaco. The set was originally part of a larger group of prints from the same session. No markings or stamp on the reverse, which is characteristic of certain working or editorial prints from that period.
