Gold and enamel oval snuffbox, Paris, circa 1770.
The lid is centred on a presumed portrait of Marie-Antoinette painted on enamel, within a frieze decorated with garlands of white pastilles, red berries and green foliage. The rose guilloché background is covered in translucent blue enamel. The uprights are decorated in relief with crossed ribbons of torches and arrows, separated by blue enamel panels decorated with flutes with closed baguettes in white enamel and rosettes, 7.5x5.7 cm, gross 160g

The lid is centred with an enamel portrait, presumed to represent Marie Antoinette, within a border of friezes ornamented with garlands of white beadwork, red berries and green foliage. The engine-turned ground, decorated with a rose motif, is overlaid with translucent blue enamel.
