A pair of 18k white gold earrings set with natural emeralds (1.77ct) and diamonds weighing 0.02ct each. 4.2g. Nature: Natural emerald – the internal ‘garden’ pattern, frosted areas and a hairline crack running across the table of the right-hand stone are clearly visible. Colour: Vivid blue-green, medium tone, medium to high saturation. Very luminous, no black extinction at the centre. Clarity / Treatment: Visible internal fissures that catch the light = oil treatment present. Light to moderate oil treatment (Minor to Moderate / F1-F2). The lustre is good; no ‘plastic’ appearance typical of heavy resin. Presumed origin: Colour: This very vivid, transparent, slightly bluish green is typical of Colombia. Zambie stones of this size in a pear shape are generally darker, more ‘steel-blue’ and slightly greyer • Jardin: On the stone on the left, one can see fairly diffuse, silky veils, with that slightly ‘gota de aceite’ (drop of oil) quality found in Muzo.
