Chiselled and gilded bronze clock decorated with an allegory of the Nativity, with a string-winding mechanism and an enamelled dial featuring Roman numerals, signed ‘Gentilhomme Palais Royal’ in Paris. Dimensions 38 × 34 × 13 cm. The balance wheel is missing; there is a small chip on one of the winding holes on the dial. Early 19th century. (Ref 76)
