In-8° 18th-century glazed calfskin, decorated spine, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, lace on the edge and gilt interior, gilt edges. Yellowed paper, some foxing, worn caps, corners and edges, and minor defects.
157 pp. (incorrectly numbered 167), [15] pp. Old handwritten bookplate on the title page in ink: de Marc? d'Alge repeated. Pencil inscription on the second endpaper: Mead Catalogue, No. 500 1Book 10, etc. Marolles was responsible for establishing the National Library’s print collection by selling his collection of over 124,000 prints (practically everything that had been printed up to his time) to Colbert, and is the most famous print collector known. Very rare.
