Napoleon’s Cavalry. Paris, Albin Michel, [c. 1920]. In-8, green half-shagreen with corner pieces, covers preserved. A unique copy containing 23 drawings of military uniforms from the First Empire by Pierre Froger, watercoloured on bistre paper, mounted on tabs and labelled on the reverse. 6 handwritten pages by Pierre Froger commenting on his work, bound at the front of the book, with a small watercolour. A total of 24 watercolours. Handwritten ‘ex-dono’ to the artist on the back of the dedication page and a note by the artist on the half-title page. Front cover and spine sun-faded with minor flaws. Yellowed paper and a few pen marks in the margins. Very fine quality drawings.
