[CITROËN EXPEDITION] Alexandre IACOVLEFF Drawings and Paintings from Africa, produced during the Citroën Central Africa Expedition, Second Haardt-Audouin-Dubreuil Mission; edited by Lucien Vogel and published by Jules Meynial. Paris, 1927. Folio-sized portfolio with drawstrings, in undyed sheepskin and canvas, with the publisher’s flaps. Slipcase damaged and soiled. Copy No. 581, dated 1 May 1927. The folio-sized text, titled on the second half-title page: ‘Road Sketches and Travel Notes’, is illustrated with sketches comprising 30 unnumbered pages on Madagascar paper, including the half-titles, title page and colophon, and bound in black silk with white and red motifs. A complete set of the 49 colour plates, numbered 1 to 50. The first plate is double-sided and numbered 1–2. Plates 3 to 50 are single sheets. There are a few minor imperfections in the paper; the mounting paper of the first plate is slightly yellowed. Rare.
