A significant collection of correspondence relating to an edition of *Mireille* illustrated by Montenard, comprising several hundred items: two autograph letters signed by Frédéric Mistral, and numerous letters signed by his widow; As Mistral died in 1914, discussions did not resume until 1920. These concerned copyright and the composition of the illustrations for the book by Frédéric Montenard, as well as their sale. Invoices and various documents.
Also included are: a very substantial mock-up containing numerous sheets showing the illustrations and the book’s layout, housed in a vellum portfolio; and a 1913 paperback edition of *Mireille* with a handwritten dedication by Frédéric Mistral.
