Tours, Louis Vauquer, 1695. 2 parts in one in-12 volume, fawn calfskin, decorated spine, marbled edges (contemporary binding). A very rare Tours edition of Nicolas Remond des Cours’s free translation, published by Louis Vauquer (1646?–1707), the King’s official printer in Tours, where he also held the posts of deputy master of the mint, director of the royal estates and commissioner for saltpetre.
Handwritten inscription concerning the sale of bushels of wheat on an endpaper and at the top of the title page. Binding restored.
