Description
[RAMPALLE (Daniel de)]. *La Chyromantie naturelle de Ronphile*. Paris: Pierre Le Monnier, 1671. Small 8vo, brown calfskin, decorated spine (contemporary binding). New edition, illustrated with six full-page copperplate engravings of hands for palmistry.
‘One of the finest treatises on palmistry in existence, according to Caillet. The relationship between astrology and temperaments is studied at length here, yielding more reliable results than other methods.’ It is probably attributable to Daniel de Rampalle, who introduces himself in the dedicatory epistle as the translator of his friend Ronphyle.
Restored binding, cracked joints, small spots and scattered soiling.
Caillet, no. 9577.
