Description
WITCHCRAFT. – The true account of a sorcerer named Gimel Truc, a native of Léon in Brittany, caught practising his spells and witchcraft in the region of Vivarois... Paris, appended to the copy printed in Lyon by H. Bottet, 1609 [Lyon, Louis Perrin, 1874]. In-8, 13-[3] pp., in leaves. A reprint by Anatole Claudin in the *Bibliothèque des pièces rares* (no. 9) of a ‘sensational hoax’ concerning the carpenter and healer Gimel Truc, who was sentenced to death for witchcraft. It is notable for including, at the end, recipes for curing livestock that he had killed in the fields with his subtle poison.
