Description
NODOT (François). *Le Munitionaire des armées de France*, which explains how to supply provisions to the troops as economically as possible. Paris, Cusson & Wit; Brussels, Foppens; Lyon, Pozuel, n.d. [c. 1701]. In-8, marbled brown calfskin, decorated spine, speckled edges (original binding). One of the earliest treatises on the management of provisions for the army. It is adorned with a frontispiece engraved by Jacques Harrewyn and contains eight fold-out tables. The opening pages include a dedicatory epistle to the Duke of Burgundy and an extract from the charter signed by the King on 27 July 1697. Handwritten bookplate on the title page. Restored caps, normal wear and tear, scuffs on the front cover, some foxing.
