Description
SEGNERI (Paolo). *Panegyrici sacri*. Dillingen, the widow and sons of J. C. Bencard, 1725. 3 parts in one small quarto volume, sows’ hide stamped on wooden boards, leather and wrought-metal clasps, blue edges (contemporary Germanic binding). Second Latin edition, following that of 1703, translated from the Italian and published by the Jesuit Maximilian Rassler (1645–1719). Paolo Segneri (1624–1694) was one of the most famous Italian Jesuit preachers. Two short works have been appended with continuous pagination: *Christus servator in pauperibus agnitus et honoratus* by Eusèbe Truchses, and *Monarchiæ romani pontificis cœlestis origo* by Maximilian Rassler. Some foxing. The metal clasp of one fastening is missing.
