LECLERC (Sébastien). Figures of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Paris, Gérard Audran, n.d. [c. 1692]. Etching. A set of 36 horizontal plates (90 x 60 mm at the centre of the plate, 108 x 77 mm including the border), mounted in an oblong 8vo volume, with a chamois-coloured Bradel-style cardboard binding (early 19th-century binding). A complete set of 36 original etchings by Sébastien Leclerc, remarkable for the elegance and expressiveness of the figures, the dramatic compositions and the finesse of the engraving. Proofs with good margins (120 x 88 mm) featuring the engraved border and numbers. The title page is in the third state (out of five). The series is preceded by a handwritten ‘Life of Sébastien Leclerc’ of 4 pp., based on Michaud’s *Biographie universelle*, and a proof of his portrait engraved by Pierre Dupin after a work by De la Croix for Odieuvre. Coat of arms scraped off the title page; a few small foxing spots. Binding edges rubbed; small stains on the covers. Jombert, no. 232 – Préaud, nos. 201–236 – Berlin Catalogue, no. 1823.
