Description
THE HORRIFIC DEATH of a ruthless baker from this city (La). Paris, n.p., 1649. In-4, [2]–5 pp., soft vellum, plain spine with title in ink (modern binding). A rare pamphlet, and very different from most of the mazarinades published during the Fronde. It is the account of two ‘miracles’ – a wicked baker punished and a poor woman rescued by an angel – illustrating the high price of bread during the siege of Paris.
Moreau, no. 2495.
