Antwerp, Guillaume du Mont [for Jean Steels], 1539. 5 parts in one small volume in-8, stamped saddle-skin, frieze of portraits in medallion and central allegorical plate, three-ribbed spine (old binding). "Precious edition, one of the most complete by Clément Marot, containing, in addition to all the pieces the poet disowned, L'Enfer in its original edition" (Tchemerzine). This "rare and little known" edition (Brunet), printed in round letters, also contains the Recueil des œuvres de Jean Marot and his poem Sur les deux heureuses voyages de Gênes et Venise, edited by his son Clément, and the Dictier presented to Mgr de Nassau on his return from France. Some handwritten annotations from the 18th century. Missing title leaf, replaced by a facsimile of the title of the fifth edition, published in Lyon by François Juste in 1533.
