BIBLE (La), qui est toute la Saincte Escriture du Viel & du Nouveau Testament. Geneva, Pierre and Jacques Chouët, 1622. 3 parts in one in-folio volume, blind-stamped stiff vellum, double frame of roulettes with fleurons at the corners and oval medallion in the centre, six-ribbed spine, metal clasps, speckled edges (Period binding). Rare edition of the Geneva Bible in folio format, with prefaces by Théodore de Bèze and Jean Calvin. Very nice typographical mark on the title and some woodcut figures and maps in the text. A superb copy in a very fresh contemporary blind-stamped vellum binding, complete with metal clasps. Handwritten bookplate of Johann Heinrich Werthmüller and Salomon Hottinger (of Zurich) dated 1682; then of Emerentia zur Eich, dated 1748. Some spotting and foxing to leaves.
