Curmer, 1864. 3 volumes in-4, red chagrin, important decoration of interlacing of nets and branches of gilded foliage on the plates, decorated back, gilded interior lace, gilded edges (Petit, successor of Simier). A superb chromolithographic publication by Léon Curmer, the first two volumes of which are decorated with countless miniatures in gold-embellished colour, inspired by medieval illuminations, while the third contains an important appendix illustrated with photographic reproductions. Minor rubbing, some foxing to the third volume. A very fine copy.
