FLAMSTED (John). Atlas céleste, approuvé par l'Académie des Sciences, et publié sous le privilège de cette compagnie. Paris, F. G. Deschamps, chez l'auteur, 1776. Small in-4, fawn half-basane, smooth spine decorated, red edges (Binding of the period). Second edition of Flamsteed's famous celestial atlas, and the first French edition, given by the engineer Jean-Nicolas Fortin in collaboration with the astronomers Le Monnier and Messier.
It contains 30 double-page celestial maps engraved by C.-E. Voisard, reduced to a third of those in the English original of 1729.
