In-4, seeded calf, fine gilt roulettes, smooth spine decorated, twisted edges, speckled edges (Binding of the period). Second edition, revised and expanded by the author with a fifth part. It also includes the "black holes thesis" inserted in the first edition in 1796, which Laplace withdrew in the third edition. A fine copy in a strictly contemporary binding.
