Amsterdam, Frères Wetstein, 1715. 1 vol. Set of 6 volumes small in-12, red morocco half-basin, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets, smooth edges (Early 19th century binding). A very complete set, including the novel by Cervantes and the continuations by Filleau de Saint-Martin and Robert Challe. Rare Dutch edition of the French translation by François Filleau de Saint-Martin (the four volumes of which were published in Paris in 1677-1678), augmented in the fifth volume by the continuation that the French translator gave to the work in 1695. The sixth volume of the 1715 edition, containing Robert Challe's continuation of Filleau de Saint-Martin's work, is included in this copy. These six volumes are adorned with 6 title-frontispieces and 46 intaglio hors texte figures, inspired by the Brussels edition of 1662. Missing text carefully redone in pen on p. 501 of volume V; one leaf missing in volume VI redone in pen (pp. 193-194). Volume VI foxed. Henrich, n°252 - Rius, n°477.
