STENDHAL. La Chartreuse de Parme. Paris, L. Conquet, 1883. 2 volumes large in-8, red half-maroquin with corners, spine gilt, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine (Champs-Stroobants). Beautiful first edition illustrated with 32 etchings by Valentin Foulquier, including a frontispiece and the others in the text. The text is that of the original edition with a preface by Francisque Sarcey. Edition of 500 copies, this one of 150 copies reprinted on japon extra (n°86).
