APIAN (Peter von Bennewitz, known as Petrus). Astronomicum Cæsareum. Leipzig, Edition Leipzig, 1967. In-folio, fawn imitation sow skin, gilt title on upper board, gilt edges, slipcase (publisher's binding). Facsimile of this magnificent treatise on astronomy printed in Ingolstadt in 1540 and decorated with numerous scroll and moving part illustrations. Edition of 750 copies, this being one of the 200 first copies reproducing the copy in contemporary colours in the Munich library. This copy is accompanied by an in-4 volume of commentaries on the work by Diedrich Wattenberg in German and English.
