Large in-4 (455x 334 mm), (2 bl.)-(XVI)-65-(5 bl.) pp. 1 map on double leaf, 8 plates of b/w drawings noted A to H of jewellery and costume details, 60 gouaches by Jean BESANCENOT reproduced in colour and monochrome and protected by captioned serpents, some signed in pencil. Unique edition of 310 copies, this one unnumbered. In sheets (preserved in a folder with flaps), plate 12 is in duplicate, first flyleaf dusted, the serpents of plates 1, 8 and 56 are missing, plate 1 is in very poor condition (numerous tears with adhesive on the spine, small holes and soiling), minimal cracks and foxing in the margins of the map, apart from these defects the work is in very good condition.
