The boards are framed with two large roulettes separated by a double fillet, delimiting a central space presenting an oval medallion surrounded by scrolls with small iron and bearing the inscription HOC.ET.MUNERE.DONAVIT.CLAUDIUS.TAPIN.1621; long spine decorated with small iron, gilt edges. - Headbands rubbed, minor lifting of leather, jaws tired, corners worn and partially restored. - 6 ff.], 858 pp. - This grammar book is particularly noteworthy for its binding in the style of Le Gascon, which bears witness to the gift made in 1621 by Claude Tapin, councillor of the bailliage of Chalon-sur-Saône and receiver of tithes in the Châlonnais region, probably to the college of Chalon.
