Paris, 1633. 18 plates hinged on sheets of strong paper, housed in a romantic oblong portfolio binding in long-grained green morocco decorated with three compartments decorated with gilt palmettes and cold-stamped foliage on each cover. - Plate 1 is trimmed at the bottom by about 1 cm, corners pierced, small leather gaps on the boards - 3rd state proofs out of 3, in an antique edition. Each proof has old mounting marks on the spine at the four corners. The paper is fine laid paper. Some leaves have a watermark. Plate 3, whose background is often blurred, is remarkably clear here.
