Fort in-4 bound in brown half-maroquin with double gilt fillet, smooth spine decorated with a floral garland and gilt motifs (cup, mask, sword, bouquet, sphinx), gilt head, covers preserved, shaped and bordered slipcase (Ritter binding) - freckles on some inserted engravings - [2 ff., fx-title, title], VIII (preface), 308 pp., [2 ff. facsimile of letter]. Illustrated with 4 portraits of the artist by Massard. Edition of 100 numbered copies, this one of 25 on Whatman paper with triple proof of the engravings (no. 13).
