In-4, full marbled calf, double gilt fillet on covers, ornate ribbed spine, red and green morocco parts, filleted edges, red edges, some light foxing - [4 ff.], 59 pp, [4 ff.], 93 pp, [1 p.], frontispiece portrait, 3 full-page illustrations, title vignette and 52 vignettes in text; 29 pp. with title vignette. Jacques du Fouilloux, a gentleman from Poitou, divided his leisure time between poetry and hunting, and combined his two passions in this work, the fruit of his observations on the habits of animals and his talent for verse. This fine reprint is based on the 1635 edition and is much sought after for Pressac's bio-bibliographical study. La Méthode pour dresser et faire voler les oiseaux is here in its original edition.
