Iranian Qur'an, late 18th century, 289 ff. Papier-mâché boards with painted and lacquered decoration adorned with a large floral composition in a double floral frame, very damaged, the back covers adorned with a bouquet of daffodils are in good condition. Spine missing, replaced by a modern cloth. The first 2 leaves are decorated with a large floral and geometric framing motif. The first 5 leaves, in poor condition, have been rebacked on modern sheets of strong paper.
The entire 14-line text is framed in gilt. Several leaves with incomplete margins. External marginal staining throughout with some damage to the text.
