Large in-8 bound in blue half-maroquin with corners, underlined by a double gilt fillet, spine ribbed, gilt titling, gilt head, double illustrated covers in colour preserved (rel. Duval) - XXXIX pp. Illustrations in colour on every page with historiated initials and text established in Gothic letters in the manner of an illuminated medieval manuscript. Edition of 245 copies, this being one of 200 on Arches laid paper (no. 57) containing a suite of all the illustrations printed on Chine, i.e. 42 proofs (with the covers).
Carrington had a particular liking for curiosa, which he specialised in.
