PELLETIER (Dom Ambroise) – Nobiliaire de la Lorraine et du Barrois. Paris, Editions du Palais Royal, 1974; in-4, X + XXXVIII + 838 + 4 + 4 + III + 388 pp., publisher’s heraldic cardboard covers. All 3 volumes. The first volume, which deals with those ennobled, is a reprint of the 1758 edition published in Nancy; the second volume, which remained in manuscript form, is reproduced as a facsimile with colour plates. It catalogues the ancient knighthood of Lorraine; the second part of the first volume forms a third volume containing subsequent additions: Collin de Paradis, *Nobiliaire de Lorraine et du Barrois*, Lepage and Germain, *Supplement to the Nobiliaire de Lorraine*; and Lallemand, *Index to the Nobiliaire de Lorraine* (previously unpublished). Taken together, they form an indispensable reference work. The work features a preface by Otto of Habsburg and an introduction written by the Reverend Jacques Choux. An essential work.
