First edition of this study, published posthumously (Champollion died in 1832) by the historian’s brother, Jacques-Joseph Champollion. Numerous hieroglyphs, printed in red and black using a combination of typography and lithography. Spine split in several places. Inscriptions on the spine and cover blackened with a pen. Marginal notes and comments in pencil within the text. Cover detached.
