[MODERN ILLUSTRATED EDITION] LEMARIE (Henry)] Tales from the Thousand and One Nights, Paris, Les heures claires, Three in-8 volumes in loose-leaf format, in a cardboard sleeve and slipcase: Vol. I: 181 pages, (2) and subsequent pages; Vol. II: 181 pages, (2), and subsequent pages; Vol. III: 171 pages and subsequent pages Limited edition of 1,200 copies on vellum, not for sale, printed especially for Mr Robert Blairon. This copy is enhanced by a fine dedication from Henry Lemarié to Robert Blairon, dated March 1955, “with whom it was a pleasure to work, thanking him for his cheerful kindness...” (Volume III). Each of the three volumes features a black-and-white sequence, a colour sequence, and a colour breakdown of one of the illustrations. The first volume contains a promotional specimen (a few pages with illustrations). It is complete with the errata page and the publishers’ note explaining the typographical error in Volume II. A delightful set.
