First edition of this important early 19th-century French dental treatise by Jean-Baptiste Gariot, surgeon and dentist to the King of Spain, whose work ranks among the most substantial texts devoted specifically to diseases of the mouth, dental surgery, oral anatomy and prosthetic dentistry. Gariot summarises contemporary medical and surgical knowledge concerning oral hygiene, pathology, dentition and restorative techniques, discussing the structure and functions of the mouth as well as methods for preserving the health and appearance of the teeth.
