First posthumous edition of the *Provinciales* followed by *Théologie morale* and the *Censure* of the Faculty of Theology of Paris, printed by Nicolas Schoute, who published a different edition of the *Provinciales* alone in the same year. The three works (Provinciales, Censure, Théologie) had first been brought together in 1659 by Nicolas Schoute, whilst Blaise Pascal (1623–1662) was still alive. The eighteen *Lettres provinciales* appeared separately between 23 January 1656 and 24 March 1657. This edition includes the 19th letter (Letter from a lawyer at the Parliament to one of his friends), which is not by Pascal but probably by the lawyer Antoine Le Maître (Willems).
