Second edition, substantially revised and expanded by Nicolas Jolyclerc. The first edition, published a century earlier, comprised only three volumes. This edition comprises four volumes, plus two atlas volumes containing 489 plates drawn by Claude Aubriet.
Included with this is: LINNE (Carl von). Sexual System of Plants according to Classes, Orders, Genera and Species, with Characteristics and Differences. Paris, published by Moutardier, Year VII (1798). In-8, marbled half-basane. (modern binding).
First French edition modelled on those by Murray and Persoon, expanded and enriched with basic concepts, various notes, a concordance with Tournefort’s *Méthode* and Jussieu’s *Familles naturelles*, etc., etc., by N. Jolyclerc.
