Nancy, Metz, Paris and Strasbourg, Year XI. 8vo, fawn half-basane with corner pieces, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets, beige title label, ex-libris label on the front cover, yellow edges. First edition, illustrated with 8 separate plates, published in 1803 (17 Pluviose, Year XI) and signed by the author. A copy from the library of General d’Hauteville. A brigadier-general in 1857, he was elected deputy for the Ardèche in 1869. Following in the footsteps of Marshal Bugeaud, he was one of those soldier-farmers.
