A handwritten note dated 1 July 1913 from Colonel Pierre-Léon Delanneau (Regimental Commander from 1896 to 1902) states that the author of this history was not authorised to write it: ‘It does, however, bear all the hallmarks of an official document.’ He states that he will inform Colonel Dumas de Champvallier (Commander of the Regiment in 1913 and 1914), who will decide whether or not to adopt it as the official history of the 2nd R.C.A.
A mimeographed note pasted onto a flyleaf dated 1909, marking the presentation of a medal to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the 2nd R.C.A.’s entry into Milan.
