RAVEZ, Auguste (1770–1849). He was one of the leading figures in Bordeaux’s legal circles. Initially a lawyer, he served as a Member of Parliament for the Gironde (1816), a Peer of France (1829–1830), President of the Chamber of Deputies, Under-Secretary of State for Justice (1817–1818) and First President of the Court of Appeal.
