Paris, Hachette et Cie, 1877; large folio (37x29 cm), half shagreen (slightly rubbed, spine cracked at the bottom of the front cover over 10 cm) and red percaline covers decorated with a large design of gilded and black metalwork, richly decorated spine, gilt edges. VIII-743 pages, black-and-white illustrations in the text and as plates (marginal foxing on 30 pages and some foxing on the first two pages and at the bottom of pages). GUSMAN (Pierre). Pompeii: the city, customs and arts. Work illustrated with 600 drawings in the text and 32 watercolours, including 12 colour plates by the author. Paris, Gaillard, 1906; large 4to (32x26 cm), half marbled vellum, plain spine decorated with a pen-and-ink drawing, columns. Colour-illustrated cover, 458 pages.
