Description
ARAGON (Louis) and TRIOLET (Elsa). Collected Novels by Elsa Triolet and Aragon. Paris, Robert Laffont, and Monaco, Jaspard, Polus & Cie, 1964–1974. 42 vols. In-8°. Ivory cloth binding in the Bradel style, title and volume number in gold, the author’s name and the couple’s interlaced initials in blue, covers decorated with embossed flowers, illustrated endpapers, under Rhodoid. (Mercher). Complete edition, illustrated in black and colour. The covers were designed by Henri MATISSE and the spine was designed by the master bookbinder MERCHER. The design on the endpapers of the entire print run, specially created by Henri MATISSE for a bookplate for the authors, is reproduced here with its impression on blotting paper. A few minor flaws on the Rhodoid sheets, nothing serious. A good copy.
