[BALZAC (Honoré de)]. A Study of Manners through Gloves. Paris, Hermès, 1950. In-12, 19 pp. Paperback, flapped cover. Printed in a run of 1,500 copies; this is no. 395 of 500 on Arches vellum, accompanied by its headband adorned with a small fawn-coloured leather glove. To mark the centenary of the death of Honoré de BALZAC, HERMÈS published this essay on gloves, which the writer had contributed to the journal *La Silhouette* in 1830 and which had never been reprinted since. Rare; a minor blemish at the ends of the headband.
